Seeing the Body of Christ
I was born and raised in a Christian home. My parents are Christians. They believe, love, and fear the Lord, but I was never satisfied with the Lord. I always followed my parents' footsteps but I never found an actual intimate relationship with the Lord. Then a few years ago my sister met some Christians in the college that we went to. It took me some time to meet these believers because I figured that I already had a church that I went to that was my parents'. Furthermore, I just did not want to be distracted from my studies and my solid foundation in a denominational church. Well, to make a long story short, I eventually went to one of the college student meetings of the local church, and the thing that impressed me the most was the Body of Christ. What I love is that we are all members of the one Body of Christ.
First Corinthians 12: 12-27, talks about the one Body with many members. Verse 12 says, “For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ.?And verses 25 & 27 say, “That there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same care for one another.?Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually.?Additionally 1 Corinthians 1:10 & 12, Paul said, “Now I beseech you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion.…Now I mean this, that each of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.?Based on these verses, the Lord used the believers in that meeting to unveil my eyes to see that we as Christians are members of the Body of Christ, and that there should be no division among us.
