Home Sweet Home
I grew up attending school at the Catholic Church where my family held membership. I graduated from 8th grade at St. Rose School. My Christian life up until I was 21 years of age consisted of the sacraments, going to church once a week, confession once per year (if I was faithful) and other religious traditions.
At age 21 I met some believers on campus at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut. They helped me to receive the Lord as my Savior and I became born again. Within the next 6 months, I met some of the believers of the local church in Hartford, Connecticut. Even though I had been having fellowship for six months in groups that differed from my Catholic upbringing, I noticed a difference in the local church in Hartford.
What attracted me to fellowship there regularly was the loving concern that the believers had for each other. The prayer meetings of the church were living, vital and not boring and traditional.
Also, the study of the Bible and daily living for the practical expression of the Body of Christ changed my Christian life. The truths in the Bible began to be opened to me and my daily living was strengthened each morning through practicing a time of morning revival.
I have been meeting with the local churches for 15 years now. I have served the Lord full-time for 8 years in Southern California in the college campus work. My wife and I owe our lives to the Lord for opening up so much to us in the local church. Coming to meet with the local churches and committing ourselves to Christ our Head was easy, spontaneous, and very fulfilling. We feel we found our home sweet home and God’s home sweet home.
